Dzemo Kazagic-big fighter for workers’ rights passed away

Big loss for labor movement!

On the way to Sarajevo to a ceremony on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the Labor union Dzemal Kazagic, longtime union activist and Chairman of the Labor union of BPC Gorazde, passed away on 17 August 2005.
. Death of Dzemal Kazagić surprised everyone who knew him, especially workers who got this information in disbelief, pain and sadness. He fought for the rights of workers all until his death. Only several days before that he was in the meeting in TPO (Factory of processing equipment) where he was advising workers on how to carry on and talked to everyone who asked for his help all until his departure to Sarajevo. Members of his family said that it was like that every day. Dzemal Kazagic was born on 19 August 1948. He accomplished primary end secondary school in Gorazde and to-years commercial college in Sarajevo. For many years he worked in companies “Pobjeda” and Wire factory in Goražde and after the war he was appointed Chairman of the Cantonal Labor union. He will be remembered by exceptional dedication, patience and negotiations about problems of workers as unique fighter for the rights of the most jeopardized people. Commemoration dedicated to Dzemal Kazagic was held on 29 August 2005 in the Culture center in Gorazde and the funeral was held the same day in presence of many family members, friends, representatives of Labor unions from the entire BiH and the community in the place where he was born.
