This reception was hosted in the beginning of marking of 18 September – Day of BPC Gorazde and Gorazde municipality, the day when many appropriate activities both cultural and sport will be held, in order to mark this important date in the history of Gorazde and this Canton. Although the reception was of formal nature, this assembling was used to discuss some of the problems of veterans’ associations. Representatives of the Association of disabled veterans and Association of families of dead veterans addressed several criticisms on the Calendar of significant dates and events from the defensive-liberation war 1992-1995, which was adopted by the Assembly of the Canton in the previous mandate and which does not contain dates that are, according to the proposal of these Associations, to be marked too. According to the explanation, this is to be forwarded to the Assembly for consideration, because it is the only way that this issue can be solved.
There were also some comments on the decision of the Presidency of Association of demobilized veterans not to participate in this reception. The reason was their protest because, according to their statement, the Prime Minister would not give a reception for them for more than half year and the Committee to mark significant date did not include unveiling of memorial plaque to the representatives of 43. Drinska brigade in its Program. In the opinion of the Prime Minister, this issue is exaggerated, because, according to him, all issues are first to be solved at the level of the Ministry of veterans’ affairs, and if that is not possible, these issues should be addressed to him. ”There is no reason to avoid any conversation with anyone, it is only that the rules and system have to be respected” said Prime Minister Obhodjas. According to Minister of veterans’ affairs and the Chairman of this Committee Nermana Sofovic, Committee to mark significant dates has sent public invitation for nomination of programs to mark 18 September to all organizations and associations in time, in order to organize as better ceremony as possible. The Association of demobilized veterans addressed their request when the Program was already completed and invitations sent, and it was groundless convincing someone why the reqest was not included.
