Marking the 1st March – the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 1st of March – The Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina was marked in Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde this year too.

The marking ceremony began with a historical class in all elementary and secondary schools of the Canton and laying flowers on the memorial dedicated to the dead veterans from Gorazde. The flowers were laid by delegations of legislative and executive power of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, the Mufti’s office and representatives of the veterans associations.

The present guests paid homage to the dead veterans who gave their lives for the sovereignty and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prime Minister of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde addressed to the citizens sending the message of congratulation on this important occasion.

The Observance ceremony on the occasion of the Independence Day was held later that day, where Chairman of the Assembly of BPC Gorazde, Alija Begovic, Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde, Salem Halilovic and Mayor of Gorazde, Mustafa Kurtovic spoke about the significance of this date for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Within the observance ceremony, the Ministry of education, science, culture and sport of BPC Gorazde presented the awards to the students of elementary and secondary schools for the best literary work on subject “My Bosnia and Herzegovina” and Chess club “Gorazde” organized a traditional chess tournament on this occasion.
