Federal Ministry of spatial planning allocated part of funds for purpose of reconstruction of cultural and historical heritage in BPC Gorazde. On 8th October 2007 Federal Minister of spatial planning, Salko Obhodjas and Mayor of Gorazde Municipality, Mustafa Kurtovic signed first contracts on co-financing the preservation of two national monuments in the area of Gorazde Municipality. These are domed burial sites of family Sijercic in place Odzak and mediaeval necropolis in village Kosace. For this purpose Federal Ministry of spatial planning allocated 30.000 KM.
– In the area of BPC on the Temporary list we have three monuments. These are Mosque of bey Sinan in Gorazde, domed burial sites of family Sijercic and necropolis of tomb stones. From the Budget for this year we allocated part of the funds for purpose of co-financing preservation of these three monuments – said Federal Minister Obhodjas, who signed the contract on recovery of the Mosque in Gorazde with Chairman of Executive Committee of Medzlis of Islamic Community Gorazde Nusret Cengic, valued at 50.000 KM.
Mayor of Gorazde Municipality, Mustafa Kurtovic thanked to the Federal Ministry, which allocated funds for this purpose for the first time and said that the funds would be used in the right place.
The above monuments are of great historical significance. Domed burial sites of family Sijercic, where bey Sinan was buried, originate from the 18th century and the necropolis with 35 tomb stones, according to evaluations, originate from the Iron Age, Bronze Age or the Middle Age. Mosque of bey Sinan, according to historical data, date back to the 17th century.
