It is necessary to create better business environment!
First Deputy of the High Representative of the International Community to BiH Ambassador Lawrence Butler along with the associates was in the first official visit to Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde.
In the meeting with Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde Salko Obhodjas there was discussed about actions necessary for creation of better business environment and opening of new work places, laying special stress upon the privatization process and obstacles that make the privatization more difficult. The issues concerning the privatization of former Chemical industry “Azot” were also subject of the discussion, and according to Ambassador Butler, additional efforts were to be made and a lot of creative thinking in order to resolve such and similar issues in the entire BiH.
First Deputy of the High Representative Lawrence Butler said that part of their task and the task of the High representative is to prepare Bosnia and Herzegovina to be able to compete and to be competitive within the European Union. He also gave positive marks to the meeting held with the Mayors of Upper-Drina region and representatives of REDRIN earlier that day in Foca.
In his statement to the press, Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde Salko Obhodjas said that beside the above-mentioned subjects they also discussed one more important subject – soon introducing of Value Added Tax and its influence on cantonal budgets. According to the estimation by the Prime Minister Obhodjas and the estimation of the Ministry of finances, by introducing of VAT, situation in the budget of BPC Gorazde will be better than it was so far.
There will be more about introducing of Value Added Tax and Budget plan for 2006 in a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH that will be held in the organization of OHR by the end of September in Sarajevo.
