The Government of Austria offered its support!
Commercial Counselor of the Austrian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, dr. Robert Luck visited Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde on 22 December 2005. In the meeting with the Prime Minister of Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde, which was also attended by Minister of economy, Ferid Buco, Minister of social affairs, health, displaced persons and refugees, Nazif Uruci and Head of Department for protection of environment within the Ministry of urbanism, spatial planning and protection of environment, Vejsil Kodzaga, the participants discussed the project of construction of waste dump in Gorazde, as well as the letter of intention addressed to the Government and the Prime Minister of the Canton. The letter of intention has been addressed by Austrian firms: Brantner Walter Gesellschaft and GWWC, General Walter Consult Corp that are interested in establishment of cooperation for the purpose of making appropriate concepts of proper removal of waste in this region.
Dr. Robert Luck also informed the cantonal officials on the agreement of the Austrian Government and the Federal Ministry of finances on very acceptable credit to the amount of 25 mil. €, intended for construction of regional waste dumps, as well as other credit lines with big grace period and low interest rate that are offered for realization of non-commercial projects, such as building of schools, medical clinics and other infrastructural projects.
In this meeting, dr. Robert Luck was informed on the course of negotiations on construction of the waste dump in Gorazde. On this occasion he was offered the most important projects of the Government of BPC Gorazde for consideration, which had a basis for this kind of funding.
“The membership in the Assembly of European Regions, participation in establishing of the Institute of European Regions and the membership in the Association of European Cities and Regions for culture, has opened the door to Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde for interest of foreign firms, especially Austrian firms willing to make investments in our canton”, said Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde, Salko Obhodjas.
