Director of Turkish Development Agency TICA in Bosnia and Herzegovina paid a visit to Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde on 17th April 2008.
On that occasion the Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde hosted a reception, which was attended by the Director of TICA, Director of the Cantonal Hospital Gorazde, President of the Board of Directors of the Cantonal Hospital, Counselor to the Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde and Counselor to the Minister of social affairs, health, displaced persons and refugees.
Owing to the Turkish Development Agency TICA, the Cantonal Hospital Gorazde received very valuable equipment for the operating room, postoperative intensive care, endoscopy and pediatric department valued at 450.000 KM and modern ambulance, valued at 198.000 KM.
Mr. Nevzet Jesler, as a new Director of the Turkish Development Agency TICA used the opportunity to inform the present on the activities of the Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, apart from the health sector, also refers to the support in the development of agriculture, fruit growing and projects in the field of cultural heritage. Recently, TICA provided fifteen greenhouses to the farmers from the area of the Canton and selected ten families to be beneficiaries of the funds allocated for fruit growing projects. When it comes to the projects in the health sector, the Agency is interested in assisting the towns of Gorazde and Konjic, said Mr. Jesler and stressed that TICA would make efforts to support future projects of the above towns referring to the advancement of health care sector.
Prime Minister Salem Halilovic used this opportunity to express the gratitude to the Government of Turkey and TICA on behalf of the Government and the citizens of BPC Gorazde for the great help in reconstruction of our country and said that the procurement of this modern medical equipment for the Cantonal Hospital, beside its expansion, was the most important investment in this facility in the post war period.
