BPC Gorazde among the first Cantons in providing care for disabled persons!
On the occasion of 3rd December – the International Day of disabled persons, Minister of social affairs, health, displaced persons and refugees, Nazif Uruci hosted a reception along with representatives of the Associations engaged in providing help to these persons.
Beside Minister Uruci, the reception was also attended by Director of the Cantonal Center of social work, Alma Delizaimovic and Assistant for social and child welfare and welfare of civilian casualties of war, Muhamed Hadzic.
Sending his message of congratulations and whishes for good health and successful work, Minister Uruci introduced the representatives of these Associations with application of the existing and enactment of new acts and regulations concerning terms and ways of taking care of disabled persons, social welfare, equalizing rights of persons having developmental handicaps and those in need of social help, as well as employment modalities and equal inclusion of these persons in the community.
Members of the Associations of disabled persons from Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde expressed their gratitude for everything that the Ministry of social affairs and Center for social work do for them. They also stressed that they are proud of being right behind Sarajevo Canton in realizing the rights they are entitled to. With regards to some rights, such as payment of allowances, they are even in better position than this category of population living in Sarajevo Canton.
This co-operation will continue in the future and priority will be given to projects of employment of disabled persons and provision of conditions for their independent subsistence.
