Compromise solution
On January 29th 2009 Prime Minister of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, Nazif Uruci held a meeting with representatives of the labor unions of educational and health workers, as well as police and civil servants. The meeting was also attended by Minister of finance, Muhidin Pleh, Minister of interior, Nusret Sipovic, Minister of education, Alma Delizaimovic and Minister of justice, Radmila Jankovic.
As agreed previously with the representatives of the Labor unions, the Prime Minister organized this meeting in order to hear opinions of others before adoption of Budget proposal for 2009.
On this occasion the Prime Minister stressed that the year ahead will be difficult due to the global economic situation which requires maximum discipline, solidarity and mutual confidence of all of us. Anyway, the Prime Minister is very optimistic and thinks that despite all the difficulties this year should not be much worse than previous years.
Budget projections for 2009 amount around KM 40,7 millions out of which own revenues of the Canton amount to KM 33 millions and the lack of KM 8 millions should be provided from the higher level of government.
As it was stressed on this occasion, the Government will not propose budget with unrealistic revenues and will not make expenses that can not be covered. Funds in the budget will be allocated so that every segment can function properly. The current situation is additionally complicated because of lower cash inflow and the Decision on temporary funding which will be valid until the adoption of new budget.
