Implementation of the Law on supplementary rights of veterans
In the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde there was a meeting with Chairman of the Association of families of dead veterans Ahmet Hubjer, which, beside Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde Salko Obhodjas, was also attended by Cantonal Minister of veterans’ affairs Nermana Sofovic and Minister of social affairs, health, displaced persons and refugees Nazif Uruci.
As it was emphasized, this was one of the meetings to be held with representatives of the Associations of war veterans operating in the area of Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde, in order to make it possible for these Associations to give their remarks and suggestions in relation to the implementation of the Law on supplementary rights of veterans, for the purpose of consistent application of this Law.
Minister of veterans’ affairs Nermana Sofovic gave a short presentation on what rights of veterans were included in this Law, stressing that the Government of the Canton would make efforts to implement this Law as good as possible, in accordance with available financial resources.
Besides pointing out some of everyday issues encountered by the Association, Mr. Hubjer said that, in his opinion, this Law included the most important existential issues of people belonging to this category of population. On this occasion, he expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Canton for the efforts made in realization of construction of gravestones to the dead veterans, as well as other support offered by the Government of BPC Gorazde to the representatives of the Association.
Prime Minister Obhodjas stressed that it would be his whish and whish of the Government of this Canton to help representatives of this category of population through implementation of this Law as much as possible, although these possibilities were very modest due to the lack of financial resources in the budget of the Canton.
On this occasion it was also stressed that Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde was one of the first Cantons in Federation BiH, which passed this Law and made it possible that those who were most deserving for defense of the country realized at least part of the rights they were entitled.
