Commendable co-operation between BPC and Municipality of Gorazde
German Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Michael Schmunk visited Bosnian-Podrinje canton Gorazde on 2nd August, 2007. After he met the Mayor of Gorazde Municipality, Mustafa Kurtovic and after the visit he paid to company “Bekto-precisa” together with the Cantonal and Municipal officials, he was hosted by the Prime Minister of Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, Salem Halilovic and his associates.
On that occasion, the Prime Minister of BPC extended his appreciation for everything that German Government did for the citizens of Gorazde who stayed in that country as refugees and pointed out all priority tasks of the Cantonal Government, which is economic development and construction of the modern road to Sarajevo. He emphasized that Gorazde used to be a center of the economic development of Eastern Bosnia and that it intends to be that again with the assistance of the Government of the Federation and foreign investors, who are welcome to this Canton.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina needs modern technologies, you have to invest more in your schools and you need to have skilled manpower and highly specialized work places if you want to be a part of European Union”, said the German Ambassador Schmunk. He also commended a good cooperation of Bosnian-Podrinje Canon Gorazde and Gorazde Municipality and called the cantonal officials to offer their assistance to the local community.
The Ambassador also highlighted the importance of making regional links, with the special stress to the regions of Podrinje, Posavina and Mostar.
