On 23rd October 2007 Prime Minister of BPC Gorazde, Salem Halilovic met the co-ordinator of the Center of Civil Initiatives, Rasim Dzeko and Manager of organization „ALDI“ Demir Imamovic. At the meeting, which was also attended by the Cantonal Minister of economy, Elfad Masala and the Assistant of the Cantonal Minister of social affairs, Muhamed Hadzic, they discussed initiatives, which the Center addressed to the Prime Minister and the Government of BPC Gorazde for purpose of joint contribution to systematic solving of the issues contained in a document called „The Civic platform“.
The CCI initiated inclusion of their proposals in the Government’s Work plan for 2008. These are:
– Making Cantonal Employment strategy,
– Making Action plan of employment for 2008
– Reduction of expenses of public administration
– Introduction of ethical codex in all public institutions and public enterprises in BPC
– Simplification of the procedures regarding to business start-up.
After the Prime Minister expressed the willingness of the Government of BPC to accept all cooperative proposals of the above institution, he said that the Government allocated 300.000 KM for employment in this fiscal year and that funds for this purpose would amount around one million in the next year.
In addition to this it was stressed that the Government of BPC allocated 9% of the Budget funds (4,2 millions) under the Law on social aid in this year and that it will make efforts to keep the welfare support for socially jeopardized citizens at this level in the next year too.
According to the Prime Minister, there will not be any increase of salaries except making a balance of the salary base with the Federal level if necessary.
So far as simplifaying of the procedure for business start-up is concerned, it was stresed that this would be difficult to realize, since part of ingerentions on this issue is at municipal and/or Federal level.
