One day associating of the citizens from diaspora and local community, organized by Gorazde Centre for local development and women association „Gorazdanke“ was held on August 4th 2008 in Gorazde.
On this occasion Mayor of Gorazde Municipality, Mustafa Kurtovic, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Gorazde, Smajo Bascelija and Minister of economy in the Government of BPC Gorazde, Elfad Masala welcomed Gorazde citizens who live and work in other countries. Main accent of their talk was put on that what was recently done in providing conditions for return and possible joint projects to be implemented by the local community and citizens in diaspora.
Main purpose of the assembling was linking the local community and its citizens with the citizens living in diaspora, as well as strengthening the links that have never been broken. On this occasion representatives of the citizens living in diaspora and non-governmental organisations made some useful proposals in drafting a future cooperation strategy.
Later that day the participants had the opportunity to discuss some specific cooperation projects and attend the inauguration of „Bosnian room“ made by members of women association „Gorazdanke“ who were co-organizers of this event.
